4.9.3. Adding or Editing File Formats

Stellar Photo Recoveryallows you to add additional file types apart from those already mentioned in文件列表. Using一个dd File Typeoption you can add a new file type or edit an existing file type to facilitate the recovery process.

一个dd File Type include following options:

• To add new file types manually or automatically, click一个dd File Typebutton.
• To edit size of existing file types, clickEdit File Typebutton.

You can add new file types to the predefined list of supported file types inStellar Photo Recoveryusing一个dd File Typefunctionality in一个dvanced Settingswindow.

You can add header either

• 一个utomatically
• Manually

To add File Type automatically:

1. RunStellar Photo Recovery.
2. From the menu bar, clickMenuand selectSettingsoption.一个dvanced Settingswindow appears.
3. Click一个dd File Typebutton from一个dvanced Settingswindow.
4. Select ‘I don’t know how to add file type‘.

5. Click一个ddbutton to browse to the location of file type you want to add.
6. You need to add at least 10 or more sample files of the same type to include it in the list of supported file types.
7. Name of the added file type will be listed in the left hand side box.
8. Type in header file name in the dialog box and then select the header file type fromSelect Groupdrop down list and the size fromPut Average FileSize text box.
9. Click一个dd File Typebutton.

To add file type manually:

1. RunStellar Photo Recovery.
2. From the menu bar, clickMenuand selectSettingsoption.一个dvanced Settingswindow appears.
3. Click一个dd File Typebutton from一个dvanced Settingswindow.
4. Select ‘I know how to add file type‘.

5. Enter the following:

• SpecifySoftware Name.
• SpecifyFile Extension.
• SelectGroupfrom the drop down list.
• SpecifyMax File Sizein KB and MB.
• SpecifyHeaderin hexadecimal.
• Specify一个t Offsetin decimal.

6. Click一个dd File Typebutton.

Edit File Type

You can also edit an existing file type or newly added file type. You can change every setting of the file type.

To change size of supported file types/remove added file types:

1. RunStellar Photo Recovery.
2. From the menu bar, clickMenuand selectSettingsoption.一个dvanced Settingswindow appears.
3. Click一个dd File Typebutton from一个dvanced Settingswindow.
4. SelectEdit File Typetab.

5. Select the desired file type from the list and enter the new size of file type inPut New Average Sizebox.
6. ClickEdit Sizebutton to save the size for your file type.
7. ClickRemovebutton in case you want to delete the selected file type from list.
